I am going to write one description for all the cactus flower paintings in the series.  Not because they are all the same, and not because they have the same color harmonies or size. But there is one thing one can say about the cactus flower that holds true for them ALL! That word is SURPRISE!!!!  Like the saying goes, life is full of surprises RIGHT? Nothing can say that louder than a cactus bloom in nature. Imagine, you are hiking through this desert landscape.  As far as the eye can see is a sea of scrub, rendered in muted color, beautiful in its subtleties. Neutralized and soft color relationships, the green...not so green, right?
